One of my favourite jobs in watchmaking is fitting balance staffs! In this case it's from a Valjoux 7750, or at least, one of it's derivatives. 

Heres the finished article! A pleasure to work on and, I’m sure, a pleasure to wear!

I was sent a Breitling Navitimer manual-wind Chronograph for a service. The mainspring had broken and the whole watch was getting a bit tired!
It wasn’t in bad nick, considering it’s age. It needed some tlc to return it to its former, more efficient self.

These watches are a pleasure to work on and give real satisfaction when they are back together and are giving a good reading when tested on the timing machine. Timekeeping should be reasonable considering it’s age. With its new mainspring it should give many more years of service.
Jobs like this make my chosen career seem worthwhile.
